We went all the way to Zimbabwe for this special wedding. Brian and Carol are currently settled in the USA. Brian also represented Zimbabwe as their 200m Olympic athlete. Their wedding day started off with beautiful weather. Halfway during the service it started pouring! The service was held on the lawn of Chengeta Safari Lodge about 40km from Harare where the guests scattered to look for some shelter against the weather. It took a while for the weather to clear up. Afterwards we had a session with Brian and Carol with elephants they arranged especially for this photo shoot. What spectacular creatures! The reception was held outside in a big tent accommodating around 400 guests. For lunch, the guests were served impala and eland. I was very impressed with the way this was prepared as game usually had a very “wild” taste. Brian & Carol had the most impressive first dance I’ve ever seen. We only met them the day before and even then they were preparing their dance steps. Thank you Brian & Carol for the opportunity and privilege to capture your special day. May these photographs be treasured for a lifetime! After their wedding André and I travelled through Zimbabwe and Botswana for our long deserved break after a hectic wedding season – I think it’s a huge privilege to say that we live on such a beautiful continent!
